id imagine it is 100% since its in the firearm section, if it where a 80% then it should be in firearm assesories ,

generally, you only dros if it has a serial number and it a receiver. if he said it 80%, then there should be no dros. seller should clearify and if possible post picture. interesting item. will wait for picture

There are 80% receivers that require DROS. It depends on the manufacturer

well that's news to me. i never heard that 80% receiver has to be dros. Is it because it has a serial number? would like to know why.

            sorry about hijacking the thread.

The Ma deuce (and family) sideplates which were originally considered to be 80% and did not require dros were all serialized when the BATFE cracked down on them and busted one of the manufacturers...

now the 1919 family of firearms 80% sideplates which are available are no where near as complete as they were originally (when sold without going through an FFL)

The original '80%' configuration plates that are currently produced all are serialized and sold as title 1 firearms.... there are ones which do not require an FFL, but they are substantially less complete.

I believe what the seller is saying is that This is one of the original configuration 80% sideplates which was produced after the crackdown... and as such was made as a fully serialized title 1 firearm.... the other '20%' involved fitting and drilling holes based to match the alignment of your parts kit anyway so it is not a lot of work... (I did mine with a friend in roughly an hour and a half... and we had no idea what the heck we were doing)
