SPF
WW2 production BSA 'Dispersal' #1 Mk3 Short Magazine Lee Enfield (SMLE) .303 caliber. Made using new and refurbished parts during WW2 at the height of the German bombing campaign against the UK. This rifle has all matching numbers (receiver, bolt, rear sight, nose cap). The finish is worn in places. The wood is beech and is a combination of British (beech forearm from another #1mk3 rifle) South African beech handguards, and India beech butt stock. The non British wood is post WW2. The butt is a 'long' length and so marked with an 'L'. The rifle comes with a target sling swivel at the front trigger guard position and a piling swivel.
The good: The bore is super nice, sharp and no pitting. It is very accurate with good quality ammunition. The wood, except for a spot about the size of my thumb on opposite side of the forarm is smooth and great looking. A few small dings and scratches.
The not so good: The chamber as a small thumbnail sized patch of pitting which makes the first couple of case extractions a touch sticky. Once the chamber heats up that lessens. The rifle shoots low and the front blade has been shortened to bring the shots back to match the sight settings. The forearm has two compression marks at the same point on the wood opposite of each other. Looks like marks from a rifle rack perhaps on a vehicle.

I will ship for $35 to an FFL who will accept a shipment from a C&R licensee (me). Please confirm this with your FFL before saying you will take the rifle and want it shipped. Will meet up a reasonable driving distance from Santa Clarita to do a PP transfer.
I'm selling it because I am pretty much defeated by the sights with my 61 year old eyes.
Let me know if you have any questions.
