This is a 1920 colt 1911 that was owned by one of the worlds preeminent anthropologists in the early 1900s. Dr. H.A. Baylis received this gun on 4/7/1921.
Dr. Baylis was also a member of the US Olympic shooting team for the 1924 Olympics in Paris
