.I know a decent amount about Kenny but I'm sure there's some of you that could school me about Custom Culture in Southern California in its hay days of the later 50's and 60's ..
Colt pre WW2 Woodsman 22 LR completely customized by the late Kenny "Von Dutch" Howard
Custom length oversized barrel fabricated and installed
Fabricated and installed a baby version of a Cutts Compensator
Custom German style Schnabel "Duck's Beak" forend shaped hand checkered and finished
Magazine fully engine turned both sides (similar engine turning found on some of his custom knives that have came about over time) AKA Jeweled finish
Personally engraved by Kenny Howard on the top of the barrel "Von Dutch"
This Firearm was purchased in 2006 in a Sotheby's Auction. This pistol is out of the famous Brucker Collection that had other Von Dutch drawings and guns sell from it in May 2006.
A person which will remain nameless by his own asking sold this to me in early 2018. The continuing history of this guns life is It was saved by being grabbed up by the owner out of his safe hours before the Thomas Fire of December 2017 swept through his neighborhood leveling his home and 20+ others in the surrounding area. The original paperwork from the Sotheby's Auction were lost in the fire. If validity is important to you which it must be if you're wanting to purchase this firearm , please Google search "Von Dutch Firearms " . The first block of images that pop up there's a pic of a display case showing the items off pre Auction to the public of all the Kenny Howard firearms that went up for sale that date . My Colt is the one almost dead middle with the long barrel you can't miss it.
If you have interest in this acquisition keep in mind 2006 was before Howard's daughter sold his copyrighted nickname "VonDutch " to a couple of clothing /perfume designers .They Made his name know worldwide by 2010 with their apparel line ...Bad or good depending on who you are, it sent genuine pieces from the man himself skyrocketing and the way the world is they should only increase in value .Its no secret the Kenny Howard and Steve McQueen were pals .And just as a example for your thoughts Steve McQueen had a little two stroke pit bike (Kawasaki 100/1970) that he drove around Santa Paula airport (drinking and shooting cans n bottles in the river bottom close by so I've been told) and Von Dutch painted the fuel tank bright orange and hand painted 'RINGADINGDOO!' On the side of it... that's all ..that bike sold for $55,575 + buyers fee that probably equaled 20%.
Please if you have interest ask me any questions you may have I am not a historian or a expert but I do live in Ventura county where Kenny Howard spent his last days before he passed in 1992.I have spoke with several old timers and it's amazing what you can find out that isn't printed in any books ,kind of in the same as hearing stories of Johnny Cash from older people that still live in Casitas Springs CA.(Also in Ventura county) where he lived for a time with his first wife.In short this is a piece of Americana

**********SIG SAUER 220 EARLY WEST GERMAN **********
SIG SAUER 220 west German 45 ACP original factory light blue cardboard box w/red foam lining.Owners manual included.Early model with the sharp spur hammer and low profile fix sights like a Beretta 92.This gun was a gift to a retired police captain from his younger officers in the late 80's .They had the trigger gold anodized and a light ingraving on the slide"In Appreciation " It's light enough in certain angles it's hard to pickup. The guy went on to being a P.I. For 18 months after his retirement from the force and hurt his back causing him to finally stop work completely. After that the gun sat in this closet til his widow sold it to me . I had a old polaroid of him the day It was gifted at a dinner from his officers but I can't find it for the life of me.Included with the gun are four period correct west German zipperback mags total . The gun does have light holster wear on the high points on the slide since early Sig finishes on the stamped slides with breech blocks were thin. Gun is still 95%. The only thing I've done was have a gunsmith install a SRT on it and ran a few mags for function check .Include with the gun is aset of new Pachmayr full wrap around grips but they need fitting since I tried installing them and it made the decocker sticky. $1,150 OBO
