In 1971, Colt produced 2,500 limited edition 1911 NRA Centennial Gold Cup National Match 45 caliber automatic pistols. The frame and slide are flawless in the famous Colt high polish Royal Blue. Fixed front sight. Adjustable Elliason rear sight. The left side of slide is stamped “1871 ~ NRA Centennial ~ 1971 / The First 100 Years of Service / 45 Caliber Automatic,” the right side “Gold Cup / National Match,” with the likeness of a trophy. Serrated front strap. Flat serrated mainspring housing. Adjustable serrated trigger. Walnut grips with gold NRA medallions. Manufactured in 1971. The year is the 50th anniversary of its production. Comes with original walnut case with NRA medallion in a clear acrylic window on top of the lid. Case is lined with gold velvet and comes with the key, although the key will not turn the lock. Slight pitting on the hammer and trigger. Comes with a lockable, modern foam lined hard case by Apache. May be unfired. Serial Number: 702
