S&W 686 Plus San Jose

Smith and Wesson 686-6 Plus. This is the version when the lock was first introduced.

I’m helping a buddy sell this for the neighbor lady whose husband passed away. PM me with any questions you have. If I can’t answer them, then I’ll get your phone # so you two can talk directly.

She said that her husband bought this because he always wanted one but never got around to shooting it. There are some turns lines on it and he only dry fired it with the snap caps pictured. The snap caps are included.

If you look at the back of the cylinder and the ratchet pads, they look like new. The muzzle and front of the cylinder don’t show any marks as if it was fired. If it has been fired, then I would have to say it was done at the factory.

I'm not positive that it was never fired, and the person who would know for sure is no longer around. If is has been fired, then it was an extremely low round count.

Been to the range three times. The second time we shot a brick through it and when I went to clean it, I saw the wear mark on the right side of the frame. I figured out it there was a tiny burr on the inside of the slide. Also noted an odd wear mark on the barrel and the extractor had a small chip.

I called S&W and sent it back to them. When I talked to S&W, they were going to replace the barrel and the extractor. I asked about buying a spare extractor. S&W sent me a spare extractor along with extra plastic buffers. Took it out and shot 100 rounds through it. Functioned and shot fine. Hitting soda cans at 25 yds. So, 100 rounds through a new barrel

Has a rail so you can add your favorite optic on it

Been sitting in the safe for a while now, decided to sell this to make space.
