Up for sale is a beautiful 5 screw S&W Model of 1950 Heavy Duty 38/44 in 38 Special caliber that you don't see too often. They also call this a Pre 20 model. It is a square butt N frame gun with fixed combat sights. This gun was made about 1953 when S&W knew how to build them. All the serial numbers match, the barrel shroud, rear of cylinder, back of extractor star, and the butt. This gun has been professionally refinished at some point with a satin finish similar to the Highway Patrolman revolvers. For some reason the cylinder is a different shade of bluing as you can see. It is possible that the S&W factory did this in the 1980's when they had some of their barrels and cylinders come out kind of purple or plum like this one. There are no S&W rebuild markings on the gun though. The action is tighter than Dick's hat band on this gun, and it looks and feels like a brand new gun. It is wearing a beautiful set of bonded ivory Altamont grips that really make the gun look like a 1950's gun. I do not have the box or paperwork for it, just the gun. I am asking (SOLD)$850.00 OBO for this and I am in Hayward. The first unconditional I will take it posted to this thread followed with a PM gets it. Thanks for looking....
