P38 AC45 C Block. Known as the cigarette P38.
In 1945, the 11th Armor Division and later the 90th Infantry Division overran the Walther Arms Plant. The plant was filled with weapons and parts waiting to be delivered to the German military.
Pistols were a prized war trophy for the GIs, naturally they looted all they could carry.
This P38 is one of those pistols. Known as a "Cigarette P38," these pistols left the factory in UNMATCHING Condition. The main theory is that the GI's traded the factory workers cigarettes in trade for them building them a pistol. There was no thought in to matching the pieces together, they just wanted the pistol.
A common occurrence; the decocker doesn't work. To get it working, the process requires hand fitting the parts. This simply didn't happen due to the way they were built
That being said, ALL Parts are AC45 C block and this is a textbook example. Unfortunately, the original magazine is gone and has been replaced with a post war magazine.
