Replaced barrel? Why replaced? By whom & with what barrel?

Not sure how or why but the original barrel had a defect in the threading. I can best describe it as a nick. I was running steel cased rounds thru - not sure if that had any effect. Needless to say I stopped using steel after replacement for good measure.

I replaced the barrel after Colt sent me a replacement under warranty. It's standard fare when cleaning a gun anyway.
