    Inherited firearms

Greetings! Was gifted a few firearms from my Dad "way back in the day". He passed away in 2007. He never registered any of his firearms. Was I legally required to register them? My understanding in NO. But I'm not so sure?

Is someone asking you if they are registered? Why do you care 20 years later? Just curious as to why now (?)?

Didn't think it was an issue until a "well-meaning friend" mentioned I should've registered them, unless I received them before January 1, 1991. If I go to sell a couple will this be an issue? I'm aware of the current CA laws, of which some are BS. But that's another story...

Sometimes well-meaning friends are just that - friends. Not experts in certain subjects, but willing to tell you their thoughts. Most people on this forum (Me included) can be categorized in that category too. its like a peanut gallery. Good luck!

                          To show her ownership.

Again, not sure it was required, just wanted to insure a smooth transaction when she did sell it.
