I am located near the Oakland Airport, San Francisco East Bay Area, CA. Can ship at the buyer's cost, I prefer Elite Armory in Castro Valley, Irvington Arms, or UG Imports (appointment only), and don't want to drive 2 hours for a transfer.
I have been asked and yes I am willing to ship the pistol to an FFL on the buyer's cost. It will cost around $100 to overnight. (Use 5 pounds from zip code 94530). The TRS special 1.5" guarantee is on the list, but you need to CONFIRM with your FFL that he will take a package DIRECT FROM AN INDIVIDUAL, and will accept this TRS in this current configuration, hard chrome finish, etc.
No I do not ever find myself in SoCal, and no, I will not drive to SoCal to do a PPT.
I also volunteer at the San Leandro range for serious buyers who want to inspect the pistol. It kind of sucks for me to drive an hour to a shop only for a "no thanks", ya know? : )
Not interested in trades at all as I am trying to save up guilt money for a Tanfoglio Stock 2.
Not taking offers. Lowballs & Irrelevant / asinine questions will be ignored, I am willing to take extra pics within reason for serious buyers, but I will not do a full detail strip of the gun for tire kickers and picture hunters.
I am honestly a super nice guy : ) I really really am. Like the kind of guy you want to invite to dinner at your parent's house, but I just have to get that fine print out there.
Les Baer Thunder Ranch 5" full size.
.45 ACP
Hard Chrome from the factory ($300 option).
No front Cocking Serrations! (FCS)
1-1/2" at 50 yards guarantee with certificate and test target ($300 option).
Includes box and Les Baer patch & 2 OEM magazines.
Blended magwell installed (an extra option). Flat MSH included.
Hook type sights (forgot the maker) with green fiber optic front. The plain black rear hook sights were old school when only one or two makers were making them (no markings).
I am not the first owner. I put 100 rounds through her before and had no issues. I love the Les Baers and this has been a gem in my collection for a long time since it is such a special custom piece.
Reason I am selling is because I haven't shot 45 in ages and have been competing in Glock matches and perhaps want to get into USPSA. Just tired of collecting beautiful but expensive safe queens I never bring out.
The 1911 looks to be in clean excellent condition. Does not look like it was shot much or abused. The barrel bore is clean and crisp.
Trigger is a sweet and crisp 3.75 lbs pull with a super short reset.
In the interest of full disclosure, I took the 1911 apart and did an inspection. Internals are in clean shape, there is some scuffing under the slide stop/release which is natural in any used 1911, and hidden when the 1911 is assembled. The only thing I could find is that the ejector (see last pic) is a bit peened on the end for some reason. It does not however affect function as the pistol feeds and ejects live rounds flawlessly. It is what it is and I want to be up front - it is a cosmetic issue and can be fixed easily by any competent smith.
I got a PM from a member that his Les Baer Premiere's ejector looks identical to mine and has not been an issue. Thanks. : )
Also please note that the wooden Les Baer TRS grips are beveled and does not sit flush with the magwell. Some people care some don't, but it is an easy fix to just buy new flat bottom unbeveled grips.
$2200 face to face. Buyer pays DROS fees.
Please, kindly take the time to send questions, comments or inquiries via PM. Please do NOT post on the thread unless it is an "I'll take it."
Thank you for reading. : )
