Hey everyone this guy is raising the asking price to $300 because he "has a ton of interest at $250". FYI so you know what you are dealing with...

Sounds like a scum bag. If this is true all should pull their offers and move on

Technically OBO could be a higher than asking price correct?

                Or is that not allowed?

                Just curious....

Don't mean this to be an auction. Posted, went to bed, and had buyers willing to buy it without pictures. 1x price INCREASE as tiebreaker. Not taking bids, did not ask buyers to set their price. If no one wants it at $300 it sells for $250 based on PM order (Not $290, $280, etc.).

First to respond was BestoftheBay @ 2203. He'll get it at $250 if everyone else declines at $300.

Still a bait and switch. Still violating forum rules.

I think people need to grasp what obo offer means. The seller does have a right to sell it for the price he wants , but this isn't an auction site and it's not " or highest offer" I had the same pm , i didn't like what I read and moved on.

250 or 300 its still a good fair deal. I say if op wants 300 now after seeing the attention brought he should just repost ad for the new price and sell to first buyer. Make sure to post first "ill take it" in thread gets it. Pm's dont count. Lesson learned for a newer member. No biggie....and we all move on.

                            Audacity

This is clearly a violation of forum rules. I am surprised this seller's listing has not been closed and banned from selling for a period of time. 'Bait n switch' and turning it into an auction. From my understanding, 'obo' means AT or BELOW the ASKING PRICE.

'OBO' means 'At asking price or the best offer under the asking price if no one wants to pay the asking price'. It is not a way to engage in auctioning around the rules.

If no one had offered to meet his asking price then yes, remove the sale and repost however when you have a solid 'I'll take it' raising the price after is auctioning and is not honorable.

There are exceptions such as a neophyte member posting something valuable at a ridiculously low price. Such as not knowing what a Les Baer 1911 is worth and posting it at $650 because that's what other guns that look like it are selling for.
At that point the question of being honorable falls to the buyer(s).
