[b]Make: Ruger
[b]Model: Fixed Sight "Match Champion" Model 01754
[b]Caliber: .357 Mag/.38 Spl.
[b]Location North OC
[b]Price: $650 firm, no trades
[b]Will ship No
[b]Other info: This is an unfired, NIB stainless DA revolver, the match, lighter weight version of the Ruger GP-100 or "Jeep"--it's the Cadillac of Jeeps!
4.2" half-underlug slab-sided barrel gives it a much more responsive balance than the "stock" full-lug GPs. Slim stippled walnut grips add to handling and handle recoil better than checkered grips. Sights are meant for action matches but work fine for hunting or service: rear is a bold square notch black fixed, front is a big fiber-optic dot that centers easily and naturally and would work well in low light. Either can be changed w/out a gunsmith.
This particular gun has a very tight barrel/cylinder gap and smooth DA pull. Don't know how it shoots because it's never been fired, but my other Jeep shot like a rifle, in fact I used it as a "deer rifle" from tree stands in upstate NYS for many years, and it was deadly at those woods ranges.
I got this revolver from Bud's Gunshop online with the intention of shooting the heck out of it. Unfortunately by the time I got it after their long layaway and a long trip, the arthritis in my shooting hand had progressed to the point where I can't shoot magnums at all (found that out shooting my other Jeep, which is a 6" half-lug and kicks less per given round than this lighter one would).
I can't do pictures but if you go online to www.ruger.com, and choose the "firearms" menu, then "revolvers," then "double action," then "GP-100," then "Match Champion," you can see EXACTLY what this gun looks like. Or go to Turners and look at one (look at the price while you're there....).
This comes in the Ruger case with ALL the paperwork, cable lock, grip locator pin in case you decide to switch grips, etc.
Asking $650 firm (as cheap as you'll find), no trades, cash payment only at PPT, and buyer pays the DROS fee (but no TAX!). PPT at Ammo Bros in Cerrritos, Rifle Gear in Costa Mesa, or any mutually agreed dealer in North OC or Long Beach area.
An "I'll take it" HERE is the ONLY way to buy this. If you have questions or comments, PM me and I'll answer ASAP.
