I emailed him within minutes and he promptly responded with photos and we negotiated terms. Within 10-15 minutes we decided a deal could not be made that suited us both.

The seller asked to be emailed and you have no way of knowing when others contacted him. I have wanted one of these for sometime and there are many others posting in the WTB section.

I'll share my experience here:

I contacted the seller - negotiated a deal shortly after he posted and told him I'd happily PayPal him a deposit as I was out of town for the weekend. He then went completely dark, failed to reply to any further emails - I'm assuming he took a higher offer and went completely ghost on me.

It's disappointing when you follow the sellers protocol and the seller goes completely dark without an explanation. Forums such as CalGuns offer the security of dealing with folks who are in a "community" - a neighborhood if you will. When someone in the community (looking to sell a gun) treats others in the community without the courtesy of an email back (emailing someone only takes a few seconds), then the fabric of the community begins to erode.

Geoffrey997 is rightfully angry. As am I. At the VERY least, email someone back who has taken the time to express an interest in your gun. Show some manners - especially on a forum where the whole idea is helping out each other and being respectful to a small group of folks who support the gun industry (which, according to the seller's Facebook and Instagram profile - seller is a part of).

So, in this case....for future transactions with this seller, I would caution any buyers. Please be aware you are dealing with a seller who may not reply to your emails or make an effort to get back to you.

Did the exact same thing to me.

I PMed within a few hours of posting. He sent pics, best price and I offered to buy it and do a PPT the next day. Got an ambiguous reply after a day about what the pistol comes with, no acknowledge of PPT offer and then disappeared. Felt strung along. Lack of common courtesy.

This seems to be par for the course with people that come on here just to sell. Happened to me a few weeks ago- new member listed a gun for sale and I immediately posted I would take it and followed up with a pm with phone number, etc. The time of my "I'll take it" was in the same minute that he posted. I guess it's possible that somebody pm'd him while I was posting "I'll take it", but I doubt it. What pissed me off the most was that he didn't have the courtesy to even respond until, I believe, 2 days later when he let me know that it had been sold.

Pretty sure somebody messaged him with an offer slightly over the asking price. It sucks, but you just keep your eyes open for the next deal.
