Colt Single action Army/Bisley Corona No Shipping Price drop

    Colt Single action army.
    45 LC Corona CA
$1550 Now $1400 NO Shipping New price $1000.

For sale is this beautiful Colt. It is in great shape. The year is 1909 according to the serial#. All parts and function are tight. The bore and cylinders are bright and shiny. It has seen very little use over the last 100+ years. All parts are nice and tight. There is a small crack on the right hand grip. Just above the Colt; please see picture. Please see the comments below as I am not an expert. I have not changed any parts however a previous owner may have. It may be a Bisley. I am dropping the price to make it fair either way. Now $1000
    $1550. Now $1400 Now $1000

Nice Colt - But it is a Bisley - not a Single Action Army

I am told this is a Bisley

I did not intend to be misleading I honestly do not know the difference between SSA and Bisley but I am thankful to the members who were kind enough to set the record straight.

These have been shipped from the factory with case hardened frame and hammer. These parts being blued on your gun may suggest that it has been refinished at some point in the past.

When this pistol was first listed, I arrived at the same conclusion and therefore reluctantly passed on it.

To be fair - all Blue was a factory option - but was Rarely taken. The metal points do look very crisp. So if it was re-blued totally and over the case-hardened. it was a very nice job. A nice price for a nice Colt. If it were in my backyard (rather than a 7 hour drive), I would be very tempted. Nice caliber!

                  A little more help

How would i know for sure if this Colt has been reworked or reblued ?
I do not know the past history but would not like to mislead anyone.
Are there tests that a local gunsmith could perform? Or should I send this to Colt for evaluation.

Go to the Colt website, select archives and follow the directions. It will cost you $100, but will be worth it.
