I own several original Unertl mounts. These mounts were purchased from Freda Sh** back when Col. Roc** Gre** owned Unertl and they were on Highland Ave in a dirty little corner by the Rio in Vegas. I walked in and bought them thats how I know the origin. The small suite that they operated out of was NOT even marked UNERTL OPTICS. I had to ask the mailman which suite was theirs.
Anyway, I bought several items from them that day, these mounts being some of what I bought. The mounts were broken when I bought them and I later repaired them. They are ORIGINAL UNERTL mounts. I do not beleive them to be USMC issued, however they are GENUINE UNERTL. I believe these bases were intended for the T-Series scopes that were produced shortly before they went under. The bases intended for those scopes were eventually engraved with word "UNERTL" on the port side. These did not have the engraving done.
I have had these bases for several years in my tool box soaked in gun oil. I recently drug them out gave them some love and used them as models to compare to our last run of REPLICA mounts. These are almost identical in everyway, they only differ because we flawed the replicas so we will know a fake when we see it. The ones for sale here are original UNERTL not replicas.
I am going to sell 1 here on Snipers Hide. You choose which one of the two you would like. Both will come complete with top rings. They have some asthetic issues due to being repaired but no physical damage. Much of the asthetic issues will be covered once the finsih is applied or they are painted. I will also warranty them for life. If they break I will repair it free of charge.
