    Sentry Safe in Sacramento (SOLD)

I just removed some store fixtures from a small chinese grocery store in San Francisco, and this safe was in there also. It was a pain to get out 'cause it as upstairs in an old building with turns in the stairway, but here it is. Looking for $250.00 or best offer

The safe is locked open, but I can changed the combo to whatever you want, and there is a very small compartment at the top that is also locked open, but there's no key for it. You can either change the lock, or remove it entirely

    Sentry safe model E5251-T-4B

    outside measurements are 16" deep x 21" Wide x 59" tall

Designed with you in mind, our safes offer unique features to protect your most valuable items. Find the safe that's right for you.

They drilled three holes in it to anchor it down. (it's earthquake territory you know)

It appears to be insulated somewhat, and it has shelves

Web page didn't say anything but does the safe say anything about a fire rating?

No, I don't see that either. It has some insulation in there, but when you drill holes through any safe, even those for anchoring, you detract from its' fire resistance, unless those are factory holes. These are not. there's always some fire resistance, but how much...I don't know. Fire ratings to any real degree cost some tall dollars. These safes are cheaper, keep honest people honest, and keep the speedy criminals and kids out, while looking smart. If you're looking for real protection against a more dedicated class of burglars, or protecting some very valuable papers, you need to start looking at safes valued at 3K and up

I would have placed the ad here sooner, but it happened kind of fast. I took it from the building late at night, down a stairway with turns, and by myself. Once that was done, I didn't want to leave it on the floor because there's incoming contractors the next day. After all that, I didn't want to come in the next day and hear, "What safe?" from the electricians, the masons, or the carpenters.

Just to clear up some things that a few folks have been asking in pm's:

No safe is fireproof. They do have degrees of fire resistance. When you buy a safe, you are buying time. The time it takes a thief with tools to break in, or the time it takes a fire to burn through. Mostly, safes came with TR, TL, and FR ratings for torch, tool, and fire resistance ratings. they were TR/TL 15, or 30, or 45 etc, minutes of protections. Your average safes were usually torch and tool resistant, but not fire. Fire resistant safes were generally made for that alone, and not for your burglary resistant types. There were ones with all, but they were generally large, and very costly. Most safes with the ratings mentioned are also costly.....some thousands really.

This safe, the one for sale here, and those of its' type, don't have those ratings. When I say "this type", I mean safes that cost a thousand or less dollars new. They are acceptable for keeping guns out of the hands of kids, and will discourage a nervous burglar who wants to get in, and get out. You will get some, but very little fire protection. If you have 20K worth of collectible guns, this one is probably not for you. If you have an armfull of pedestrian guns that you can buy again for 3K, and you want something you can lock them up to discourage kids and wannabe burglars, this might be the one to get you there.

                  Hope that helps

Story of my life it seems; it's either the location or the timing. It's a conspiracy I say

The safe is sold and picked up already. I didn't have to resort to anything rash either
                            Thanks everyone
