I made a firm offer. I need this carrier for an ultimate in Low mass carrier AR15 project. i THINK it can be NiBoron coated.
It is said the underside wears where it slides over the hammer. Failzero suggests coating your hammer too in their kits. I hope they will coat my stuff for me.
I wrote to them to ask.

Just an update on this carrier for anyone interested. Holy crap, this thing is light! ...3.85 oz!
I took off the gas key and put an AA solid gas key(for piston rod strike). It worked fine with my AA system and the JP captured spring system, BUT I decided to use a Low Mass JP carrier instead.
This carrier will find life in a NEW upper I am building. I am taking off the AA solid gas key and putting the DI gas key back on. The new upper will be a DI with an 18" fluted SS Wylde chamber barrel with a Kries tiny adjustable gas block. I reverted back to DI for this upper to keep the weight down. My forearm weighs only 6 oz!(AP Customs Carbon Fiber).
I am sending the carrier out to be hard coat anodized before I put the DI gas key back on. Then it and my HAMMER will get coated in Birdsong BLACK-T(Google that). I know that is two coatings but the thickness is in microns.
The result will be a low friction, low recoil, flat shooting 3 gun upper with incredible accuracy and blinding speed. My lower has a Geissle 3 Gun trigger.
I have a JP enhanced bolt for the JP carrier. I think i may get an AR Performance bolt for this Smith carrier, and another Titanium Nitride coated firing pin. Love my coatings!

I still dont have this coated. I talked to Smith Enterprises. They did suggest electroless nickel which is what fail zero basically is. I am talking to an outfit in PA that does NiBoron plating that they call MicroslikB.
                    Same thing.
The trigger and hammer i am having done in TiN. The two types of plating will work quite well against one another.
