Personally, I think you got the shaft, but what can you do? It happens... move on.

he is warning others, I would leave a negative feedback too, if he really wants to help other buyers that is the right way to handle it

I wouldn't be surprised if another reader here offered more than the $200 and that's where it went.

+3 on leaving negative feedback! It wouldn't surprise me if there were multiple offers above asking price, auction set up. I wonder where the other characters are...I had someone go back and forth with me once when he was defending the loser seller.

Absolutely warn others. But, it's not like he got ripped off. He just got his heart broken by not getting an item that should've been his. I know... it would make me mad too. By all means, he should ding this guys feedback. But it's not the end of the world... jeez.

I agree it's frustrating, but I'm going to also have to agree with not leaving negative feedback. He did not agree to the sale. All he did was confirm that it's a full upper, minus BCG.

There are many possibilities that could have been occurring during that time - including he had someone faster than you PM, etc.

I don't consider anything sold to me until I'm told it is. Even then, sometimes sellers back out. However, in this case, he didn't reneg on a deal, but rather didn't finalize one.

I'm totally with you on the frustration, but keep in mind a lot of people aren't on the boards all day every day like some of us.

I've had to learn the hard way, and I've been on both sides of the line (with buyers backing out). I never assume something is mine until paid for. I never consider a deal done until it's finalized with the seller.

If he had said, "Yes it's complete and it's yours," you'd definitely need to leave negative feedback.

Of course, this is all just my opinion, but in this thread it seems this is a case of miscommunication and not breaking one's word.

If so, I will indeed take it.

So if it were indeed sold to his buddy, he could have told me immediately after his PM to me and not have waited a week. I've also emailed him multiple times as well during the past week. He has never stated anywhere: "OK it's yours." "Let's schedule a pick-up." Anything that would indicate, beyond your assumption, that he accepted my sale offer? But I feel I've done the best I could on my part of the communications.
