TRADES: Yes (see below)

You are looking at the absolutely brand-new, unfired complete upper half of an Armalite SPR Mod 1, model no. 15SPR1LB-CA. Scroll down to skip the pitch and see the pics. Comes with hardened Armalite BCG, chrome-lined 16" barrel, A2 flash hider (non-pinned and removable), ARMS 71L flip sights, includes case, sling, sling mount, accessories kit, hearty handshake.*
This is a true monolithic upper, built on Armalite's interpretation of the NSWC-Crane Mk. 12 SPR concept - essentially, a lightweight carbine designed to be carried by sniper teams. Armalite uses a single piece of billet aluminum from the receiver to the upper handguard instead of a traditional delta ring/free-float tube design. This upper accepts any standard AR-15 barrel - a big plus over other monolithics that require specialized barrels. The handguard panels are replaceable with interchangeable smooth, half-railed, and fully-railed panels (included).
Although extremely lightweight, this design provides an extremely solid chunk of aluminum at the forward receiver to serve as the support for the barrel extension aiding in accuracy. Armalite guarantees 1.5 - 2.0 MOA out of the factory. Small Arms Defense Journal (http://sadefensejournal.com/wp/?p=878) got consistent 1 - 1.5 MOA groups using this upper, 77 grain match ammo (SMKs, I'd speculate?), a 4x Trijicon ACOG and the stock two-stage trigger. I would suggest that mounted on a bipod with a quality 3-9 or higher scope with some lighter handloads like 62 grains to take advantage of the 1:9 twist, this should be a tackdriver of a recce carbine.
I did my research, and this is the nicest (and one of the newest) true-monolithic designs on the market. I'm only selling because with another upper on the way, I have one 5.56 upper too many.
With the case, sling mount, sling, flip sights and rail panels all included, you're basically scoring about $150 of accessories in addition to a brand new upper that goes for $950 on the Armalite website, if it's even in stock.
Specs:
Caliber: .223 / 5.56 NATO
Barrel: 16" Chrome Lined Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel
Rifling Twist: RH 1:9"
Muzzle Device: Flash Suppressor
Sights: A.R.M.S. #71L flip front/rear sights, same-plane (included free)
Accuracy: 1.5 - 2.5 MOA
More pics:
Close up on the juncture between handguard and receiver. Note flares for strength at handguard area. Barrel nut is visible - barrel changes require just one specialized wrench, included with the upper. Front gas block is secured with set screws for interchangeability. Gas system is carbine-length, so you'll want a lower with a standard carbine buffer as well.

Left side of the upper. Note how the chamber wall, slightly chunky and beveled for strength, flows into handguard flares instead of the traditional cylindrical receiver/delta ring/ handguard design. QD sling mount pictured is included for free.

Included accessories: smooth/railed/smooth+railed forearm sections, forearm wrench. Also includes barrel wrench, original Armalite plastic case, Armalite QD sling mount, Armalite sling, not pictured.

Here are the trades I'm looking for. If you have something not on this list, hit me with it and see what I'll say - I might not even know I want it.

*Hearty handshake offer revocable dependent upon palm moisture and level of personal hygiene. Side effects of this upper may include manic states of glee, restless trigger finger syndrome (RTFS), filled pants, jealous friends, angry spouses, dead varmints and exquisitely polite neighbors. Do not point the SPR Mod 1 at your friends. Do not taunt the SPR Mod 1. Do not look the SPR Mod 1 directly in the eye. The SPR Mod 1 may shoot your eye out. It may be dangerous to drive or operate heavy machinery while fondling your new SPR Mod 1. Discontinue usage of SPR Mod 1 and seek professional help if you have an erection lasting longer than four hours while using the SPR Mod 1. If you experience dizziness, headache, delusions of grandeur, the desire to name your rifle Betty, sudden urges to cry or irrational upswellings of desire to serve your country, put your rifle down and consult your local recruiter, as you may be experiencing the early symptoms of patriotism.
