I am making this thread as a warning to help other calgunners since the admins are AWOL and the site leadership is crap. The board's marketplace is under attack by scammers using hacked accounts of good standing. There are numerous listings from the same scammer using multiple hacked accounts of good standing calgunners. Do not rely on reputation and post history when doing transactions. Beware of all sellers regardless of post history or account age. DEMAND verification. This can be accomplished by having the seller send a picture with a handwritten date and account name on a paper next to the item for sale. But this can also be somewhat faked with modern digital imaging. Demand phone number and have a telephone conversation with the prospective buyer and seller, maybe even a video chat. Try to use payment methods with safety or fraud recourse whenever possible. Use your best judgement and beware. With site leadership and admins who abdicated their responsibilities the board is no longer the safe place it used to be. I would also recommend changing your password as it seems likely there must have been a data breach of the site's account data.

Yes the admins here are non-existent. Who can blame them when the site only works for 2 hours a day I suppose.

If you LGS is a contributor or buys advertise here we need to let them know. I have talked to the owner of my FFL and let them know about the hacking and lack of Mods. Good thing I'm also friends with him out side of the guns and have his ear.
