How what works? Selling to the person that actually paid me or waiting for someone that says they want it and never responds back until later?

How does this make me a bad seller? How is it that it's not how it works? I have an item for sale, one person says he's interested but cannot decided whether he wants it and sits on it. Another one replies and say he wants it and pays me.

Anyways, I think we've beaten this thread much to long. Thanks for everyone who was interested.

So you work at a hotel/store/etc. Put something out and someone makes a reservation/preorders/etc.

Question: Do you give the seat/product/etc to the guy who just walks in and pays? Or do you hold it for the party that went through proper channels?
