Hello all,
I'm looking to sell a Winchester 1897 that I was using as a parts gun. I'm looking for $275 for this lot OBO.
The shotgun was previously owned by a CAS member who used it as a back up before passing it onto me. The shotgun was originally parkerized (quite poorly); however, I've since then remove the parkerizing so that I could one day have it re-blued but I'm in need of funds at the moment so this has to go.
The parts are all oiled down and the reddish tint is easily removable with some elbow grease and 0000 steel wool. The shotgun is more or less complete - only missing the magazine/barrel band, forearm stock, and shoulder stock. There's an original broken action slide included (3 hole design, marked with only "Winchester Model 1897").
This is an antique receiver even though the serial number is barely visible, the receiver design is of a pre-C series model 97 so that also confirms its age. Even though this sale does not require an FFL for me to send it to, I would request that I be sent a picture of your photo ID to confirm your age.
I will accept discreet PayPal, cash, and USPS Money Orders.
I live in the San Francisco East Bay. I will ship the parts via USPS for free with delivery confirmation but if you want an alternative shipping method, you will have to pay for it.
Below is a Photobucket album of the shotgun, please email me if there's any other pictures you would like.
