My personal reservations: Though I generally don't anticipate being shot with a rifle, any protection I would purchase for such an eventuality would be specifically designed and constructed for that purpose by a major manufacturer with many years of successful military and law enforcement contracts. While what you have may very well be better (and is certainly cheaper), I have no specific, independantly verifiable guarantees as to its quality, and price is not the driving factor when it comes to personal protection for me.

While it may be fun to take a few shots at some armor plate, all of my shooting is done either:
1)At Chabot, where the RSO's would be none-too-pleased with my shooting at steel.
2)On my farm in Kentucky, where I have millions of other acceptable targets that don't cost 120 bucks.

If I were to buy something to use as body armor, I would want to make sure that it is froma reputable manufacturer. If they are a new manufacturer, that's fine as long as I see evidence of testing.

If you are selling them for target use only, and the price were lower, than I'm sure people would be jumping on it. Besides, how many of us really need body armor that bad?

I use a 15"x15" AR500 plate for target shooting. I have it set up as a gong. The stuff is super tuff. This last weekend we shot 223 ss109, 308, 8mm , 7.62x39. Not a mark on the plate.
I cant see wearing mine as armor though. It weighs like 30+ pounds. If someone was into having a couple holes drilled in the plate like in two top corners it could make a gong that will last many many year. Do you know how much your plate weighs. If it doesnt weight that much with it being a smaller size that may help you sell it. Otherwise, Someone who wants a great plate to shoot at I would get the AR500.

How casual could it have been if you had to wear an armor plate? (sorry, I couldn't resist )
