The original eyepiece (20-60x) is good, but it has a fairly narrow field of view even with the 85mm objective and the magnification was overkill for my use at 1000 yards. If you want to see hits on paper at 1000, then this is for you.
This 30x eyepiece is an awesome upgrade for a wide field of view, good all-around magnification level, and range finding reticle. This eyepiece will also fit the Swarovski scope.
Scope is in mint condition. Never dropped, left in a hot or freezing car, etc. I used it for photography and long-range target shooting. Compared to the Swarovski, the color rendering is almost equal, but at a fraction of the price.
These items have a lifetime fully-transferable warranty. You don't need a receipt or warranty card or have to sign up for anything. Vortex just covers their products.
*** I also have a great grip-style ballhead to use with this. It's smooth, no signs of wear, in like new condition. You squeeze the grip to loosen the ball (the more you squeeze the looser it gets), then steer the scope into place with the grip, and release to lock it in place. It's perfect for one-handed operation. With my regular ball head, the scope would creep out of position if I left the head slightly loose, so that one was a two-handed operation.
