What do you mean "stand alone". It requires a specific mount for what your mounting it to

It will.. but you will need to buy a specific picatinny mount adapter. These come as is, then after you buy the sight, you buy the particular mount you need for your application (on a rail, on an ACOG, etc)

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I have a ta31ecos w/ a docter on top, i was wondering if i can use this one without acog and directly attach it on my railed upper,
i guess my question is what mount go with this to attach it on my rail can you recommend a brand, does it need a co witness,do i need to look for a particular height?

I would be interested if i can find a mount that'll work for my shtf rifle.

You'll need a MS19 Weaver/Picatinny mount like this one:

You could mount this on a pistol if you had the right mount.
