Took me a while to perfect the process, but I have it perfect now.
I'm using 23k yellow gold normally used for electronic connections, looks great, and much harder than 24k.
Guaranteed not to holster wear for 2 years or I'll replate free.
I first polish carbon steel parts, then nickle plate, then .5 micron gold plate. 5x more than jewelry or electronic components.
Or with Stainless steel parts, first I polish, then ultrasonic clean, then electronic clean, then activate the stainless, then electroplate the gold.
Some like people nickel or gold plated sears, discos, and hammer internals to improve performance and longevity.
Pm for a quote, discount on multiples, surface area and how much prep I need to do affects price.
Sample prices.
Gold plated thumb safety , polished stainless, $25. Carbon $35, +10 for double thick plate.
Polished stainless beavertail grip safety $40
Carbon Steel slide stop $35
basically add 10 for carbon steel)

Hammer sear pins $15
Hammer sear msh pins $20

I've only been gun smithing for 2 years, but I've been a silversmith since 1990.
