    RPR factory .308 barrel for 6.5 Creedmore

    Hello guys,
    I have a factory Ruger Precision barrel in .308 I would like to trade for a factory 6.5. The barrel has 40 rounds of M118LR rounds through it and nothing more. I recently bought an LRI barrel and have no need for the factory one. So I thought "why not trade it for another caliber". I know there is no love for the .308 but I have over 1k rounds of a 2014 batch and said "F$ck it". If anybody has one they would like to let go give me a holler.

    The barrel is still on the rifle. The LRI barrel should be arriving next week so that's when I'll be taking it off and having it available to send (if I can find someone from here till then). If not then the barrel will be kept in a coat of oil and wrapped till the new owner shows up.

    barrel

    Have you looked at these;
    Proof Research Carbon Fiber Barrels- Pre-Fit Ruger Precision Rifle Barrels.

    Half the weight of original barrel, and hold better groups. that's what I am getting. Then I will have a 6.5 to trade.

      I like heavy barrels, the way they keep the rifle on target with minimal movement. I built a MK12 MOD 1 clone/variant with a Douglas barrel. That puppy was doing good but not great. It moved a little bit with the setup that I had. I had a Vortex Viper PST FFP 2.5-10. It was doing .524 groups but it was moving a little and my follow up shots took time. Some time this year I was able to acquire a Nightforce NXS 6-24x50 SFP for $950. Adding the NXS to the build was what I was missing. The added weight of the bulkier scope put my rifle right where It needed to be. The thing doesn't move, not one bit.

      The LRI barrel I ordered was made a little thicker than what they normally do which is .820. I ordered mine at .860, I received it today. Super happy!

      In regards when you purchase your new barrel and having the factory one available for trade. Well I say F&CK YEAH!!! Let me now when because I'm gonna be all over it.

      Thanks
