be carefull, that could be considered price crapping.

$1600 is a fine price. Current pricing on the upper is $1245 plus he is including around $120 worth of ammo. That is over 1450 right there. To pay a $150 "surcharge" to bypass an unknown wait time is not unreasonable.

1600 is a lot, but when you break down the price it's not as bad. And yes, it's a MK2 not 3, but the price everything you get from the company is:

      $1295 for a 24" upper in .510
      $100 for a fluted barrel
$18 for the modified magazine catch
      $120 in ammo
      Plus shipping

Considering that comes out to $1533 and you can have this right now instead of in a year + I don't think it's a bad deal. If no one is interested of course I'll lower the price, but right now the price stands.

        I have a question.

        1) If this fits on an AR lower, You say the only change needed is a hammer spring. How does the ammo feed since the ammo is much larger then the 223 or heck anything else fed thru an AR?

I'm still not getting how exactly the set up is. Do you have any pics with it complete so I can get an idea.

It's a single shot, so it just feeds into the upper.

Yes, it fits on an AR lower. It feeds in through the loading/ejection port on the side like a normal single-shot bolt action rifle. It does not magazine load. And the heavy hammer spring is not always needed. Depends on the hardness of the primers on the ammo you are using.

www.bohicaarms.com has pics of the setup.

Guys, I think the 1600 is a hell of a deal, considering I ordered mine in Feb of 08, PAYED for it in July of 08, AND STILL HAVE NOTHING! If I wasnt payed up, I would buy thing thing.

Lee only makes DTC dies to order and they get expensive if you order less than 25 sets. Also, they are an odball thread so, they are designed to only be used in the Lee 50BMG press. CH4D makes several different versions of DTC dies and I know someone (M2 precission) else who might make custom DTC dies. He would charge a fortune (well over $1K for sizing and seating dies) but, his dies are the best. Last I knew, his 50BMG seating die was around $750 alone! If you want to use a standard 50BMG press, Hornady, RSBS, Corbin, Hollywood, etc., go with CH4d dies.

i use the standard RRA 2 stage trigger assembly & spring in my lower & it fires the mr. kubota reloads in my 30" bohica mk. 2 with no problems. only had to dress the side of the hammer per bohica's instructions to allow smooth operation of the bolt.

Does it fit on the lower and cycle properly? I know with some of them people had to whip out the dremel to get the hammer right, among other things.

The only dremeling I've heard of is if you have a 2 stage trigger. Other than that you shouldn't have to do anything. I haven't mounted it on a lower because mine have the standard magazine release still on them.

they pin right onto any lower.
i had to dremel the hammer on my rra 2 stage triger assembly, no big deal, about 15 min & it was perfect.

someone here (besides me since i already have a bohica) needs to buy this upper. they are totally cool!

Yes, you may have to dremel the top of the hammer a bit for the bolt to slide back. Its a real simple job and its mentioned in the instructions. Great upper with good customer support. The MkII are sorta a collectors item since there aren't too many out in the field
