Parting out my Sig Legion P226 SAC

It's a sad day for me. I busted my gun frame when I attempted to change out my mag extened release. I dont think is repairable. I have called sig to see if I can buy a new frame , but they said it will awhile before it back in stock and they want too much money for it. So Im parting it out to see if I can get some money back. otherwise perhaps wait for it. or if you know someone can repair with aluminium weld that will be great! thanks

I took the Sig classic P series armorer course. The most important thing I was taught was to make sure that the nipple on the magazine release is facing up. If you install it facing down, you have to send it to sig for them to fix it. Looks like you put it in upside down and tried to fix it yourself.

I'd also post this in the gunsmithing section too - maybe someone can think of a fix.
Maybe it could be brazed (HTS-2000) then sanded/filed back. Don't think you can weld aluminum assuming it's 7075.

I've used HTS on a aluminum grip frame that some schmuck reamed - removing a lip which retains the mag catch on a 1911. It was a 7075 and although it seems that some say you could tig weld it, I'm not so sure. I've also been told that it may weaken the aluminum... so instead I tried the HTS2000 stuff and so far so good -> haven't shot that frame much so verdict's still out.

Fix it with high strength epoxy and shoot it. I don't think this is a high stress area, correct me if I'm wrong. Please don't part it out,this can be salvaged.

Have you tried firing it since? It looks more cosmetic than anything. Maybe sand down the high spots and put some aluma-black on it to make it look better. Just my 2 cents.

Pin still hold inside pretty good . Haven't try shooting it . Recoil might pop it out. But imma try that later on today

Used HST2000 .. Works perfect , touch up with alum Hyde . I shot IDPA today No problem .

Repaired frame have failed .. so back to parting out my legion .. Im tired to repair it again .
