    Starlight double rifle case

I bought this case from a member here a few months back. It has served its purpose and I no longer need it. The previous seller had the foam cut for a Savage with Choate Ultimate Varmint stock.

    $160

    Local, Sacramento buyers please.

If I understand the underlying question, you may use this case as "check in" luggage at the airport. Each airline carrier is different, though many of them accept firearms as long as you follow their rules.

There are many links available to specify other individual's experiences and methods. I found one link below that might be helpful.

yea, you know what I mean,I wanted to see if its FTA approved and can I check in. I know it requires a lock or combination lock, to check in.

I just flew on SW airlines with my hunting rifle. The case can be checked as luggage and can contain ammo in the original purchased box. The gun must be unloaded and the case must be capable of being locked. I used a plastic case with two tabs for key locks and it was perfectly acceptable. You have to sign a n affidavit that the gun is unloaded. In OC they TSA made me open the case so they could look at it. When I flew back I didn't have to do that. I also took a hand gun the same way. A small locked case inside my luggage with a lock and a signed affidavit that it was unloaded. IMHO this case would work perfect. In fact I was looking hard at it myself just a little short on $ at this time.

Bump. I've attached a picture to show the cuts in the case.

This model Starlight case has been my primary rifle case for a number of years now. I've flown to hunting trips in Alaska four times with this model case. So, yes, you can check it as baggage. It is very sturdy; survived four round trips without a problem. For flying, I prefer the Starlight to my Pelican 1750. It has a pressure release valve if your trip includes a drastic change in altitude.

I picked up several in a fabulous deal about four years ago and kicked a few to my hunting buddies. They also use this model case whenever they fly. One of them has flown with his all over, including Alaska, Russia, and the Arctic. Yes, these babies can fly.

Yes. I believe that is the correct model. It does come with wheels installed. Color black.
