Sorry...It is 7.62 X 51 with 140 rounds in each battlepack...

7.62 X 51 is not exactly the same as .308 although many feel the cartridges are interchangable. I believe they are dimensionally the same but the .308 has a little more pop to them. This is the equivalent of the former standard NATO type round.

from what i understand guns that can handle 308 can handle 762 nato not so much the other way around
