I picked up an original Colt Detective Special box in good shape at an estate sale. No they didn't have the revolver. It is an older Gen 1 "wood grain" with green interior as seen on a current eBay listing. They list it as a Gen 1 1956-1961 box. Yellow label on side says Colt Detective Special Revolver, 38 special, 2 inch bbl, colt blue.
Corner and edge wear is evident but all corners are intact - not collapsing. Better shape than most boxes I have seen from older revolvers. $25 locally (live in Temecula, work in Orange) or will ship for $30. Can send pics from my phone. Thanks, Dan. ---SOLD!
