I'm not familiar with the bags. Are they or can they be waterproof? How does it seal? Will they fit 30 round AR mags w/ magpul base?

Pardon my ignorance here, but what is the difference between these and a plain old waterproof ziplock bag? The reason I ask is that a box of 50 zip lock bags is only like $3.
