First thing first, pics!
This is the base rig + A padded harness, way better than the nylon straps + Tactical Tailor Joey Hydration Pouch (sorry, no link) + Tactical Tailor Magna Mag Double Pistol Mag Pouch + Esstac M4 KYWI Triple Mag Pouch + HSGI Mini Modular Admin Pouch with a Rite in the Rain Field book.
All AR mag pouches have had the bungie straps removed and replaced with KYWI Wedge inserts. They're SOOOOO much better. they put tension on the mags while they're in it, so you can jump up and down, do cartwheels, whatever, and they stay put. But if you need em, you can just snag em right from the pouch. No fumbling with bungies.
The pistol mag pouches will fit either two single stack mags per pouch, or one double stack. They've also got a magnet in them so their retention is awesome.
The shorty mag holders are on the side like that because it's a great place to put shorties if you're shooting prone. You can pull the mag a lot easier, and you don't have to adjust the gun to fit a new mag in since they're short.
Everything is held in place with Malice Clips, and since everything is MOLLE you can re-arrange all this stuff however you want, this was just the most useful and practical for me.
All in all, this is a VERY well built rig that will last anyone a lifetime. And don't take my word, read the reviews on that site. They aren't kidding. This thing is a BRICK DOOKIEPALACE.
