looks like Bdog1 got scammed when he showed interest by another account emailing him outside of CGN. The red flag is the multiple venmo/payment methods.

Thank you guys for the input, yes got scammed, was a bit inexperienced, since I never had an issue with any other sellers that I have purchased from on this site.

Thank you again, just do not want any one else be scammed by this seller.

It was a $90.00 dollar experience, apparently meant a lot of money to the seller.

      Thanks again for the comments.

Buyer beware: I responded to an ad about a Streamlight TLR1 from “pmhitman,” and he responded with a similar scam response of “…contact this person via email _______ for faster response, cheers.” in addition, someone else PM to me about the same item, the account is brand new, created today. Definitely a scam. Pmhitman has a couple of decent reviews, so I’m wondering if his account got hacked.

          Beware of Seller(s)

          MA 2 (approx 10 posts)

          hasopim758 (no account activity)

          Felehawkins@gmail.com

          Zelle Payment Information:

          Roger Curtis
          (218) 252-2117

          -Timeline of Events-

*I responded by private message to this ad on calguns:

*I received this private message not from
MA 2 who originally posted ad, but from a hasopim758, referencing the same ad.
          1st red flag:

          07-30-2023 | 8:32 PM

          hasopim758

          "Hey bud
Contact the seller on his gmail for faster response

          Felehawkins@gmail.Com "

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

*At 8:34pm on 7-30-2023 I sent an email to Felehawkins@gmail.com referencing
MA 2 ad on calguns and he was knowledgeable of this ad and details.
          A third party's email. 2nd red flag.

*After questioning the credibility of hasopim758's lack of activity on calguns and thus that of himself, Felehawkins, the email recipient,
Felehawkins identifies himself as MA 2, who originally posted the calguns ad I initially replied to.

*Felehawkins continues to SPECIFICALLY site calguns history of activity of MA 2,
i.e. the number of posts/threads he has on calguns.

*He then even sends a selfie (of an unassuming old man with a non CA drivers license) to attempt to reassure me.
Not a California resident? 3rd red flag.

          * I then receive a private message from
MA 2, which I did not read until after I proceeded with the transaction with Felehawkins/MA 2/ hasopim758. This reassured me I was dealing with MA 2, though in hindsight it seems to be 3 different people I may have been dealing with:

          07-30-2023 | 9:45 PM

          MA 2

"Correct, Shield RMSc standard. I don?t use Zelle, sorry"

          * Felehawkins then sends an email with payment details so that I may pay him;
these details were not his, they were his "stepson's" on account that he's "old."
          4th red flag:

          email from:

          Hawkins Fele ? felehawkins@gmail.com

          "I?m an old school man
          Here is the zelle info
          Zelle info

          (218) 252-2117

          Roger Curtis

Send a screenshot for confirmation once sent
I?ll be shipping by morning and send tracking "

          * I questioned this but him being old,
proven by the two selfies he sent made sense.
It made further sense ( in my mind) when I read
MA 2's private message that I had missed stating he "does not zelle."
I felt that he changed his mind about zelling and was now trying to work with me after all.

          * I proceeded with transaction.

*At 10:12pm on 7-30-2023 I paid Felehawkins via zelle the amount of $140 for the x2 romeo zero red dots as per the MA 2 calguns ad I originally responded to.
I sent a screenshot of confirmation of payment to Felehawkins like he asked.

*At 09:18am on morning of 07-31-2023, Felehawkins emails stating the shipping will be $35. A 5th red flag.

*I chalked it up to "maybe he's using UPS" who charges an arm and a leg even for shipping down the street.

          * Felehawkins half responds when I ask "shipping from Sacramento right, UPS? " with a "yes."

*The "old guy" con really got me.

*I zelle the amount of $35 and send a screenshot of confirmation of payment like he asked.

*At 09:29am on the next day, today, 08-01-2023, Felehawkins emails once again that he now requires $40 zelle to ship item, citing weight, taxes etc.

*At this point I knew what was obvious.
          I've been scammed.
I proceed to contact my bank and report the two zelle transactions, $140 and $35 as well as detail the scam.
I know I will not be getting my money back. Thats fine.

          * I then inform MA 2 on calguns via private message of this scam and my intention to report it on calguns as well. His response via calguns private message:

          08-01-2023 | 11:41 AM

          MA 2

"You bumped your head dog. I told you I didn?t do Zelle ..No agreement no deal. Never took anything of yours."

          * When informed of the details of the scam, that he can call me so I can explain to him the occurrence, MA 2 seemed not to care that his calguns username may have been either used by others intending to defraud calguns users or that his calguns account may have even been compromised.
MA 2' s inaction leads me to believe he is complicit in the actions of Felehawkins and hasopim758 in scamming me out of $175.

          * Its undeniable that MA 2/Felehawkins/hasopim758 have access to calguns, and may be conspiring with other NEWer calguns accounts to scam unsuspecting calguns users looking for a good deal.

          Update.

          *MA 2 has withdrawn sale:

            SCAMMER ALERT

There is an individual who just cost me a sale they're going into open threads and responding to buyer's whom say "I'll take this or that" and pretending to be me they change the email to look like your calguns name and contact the victim through email pretending to be the person.

I won?t deal with zero feedback users. Especially to buy something. I might sell but they are paying in full prior. Even FTF with zero user feedback usually makes me regret it? they always back out with a lame reason.

Beware of SCAMMER - guilstorf ( junior member) 0 feedback
I responded to a seller about possibly selling their slide separately.
And got a PM from “Guilstorf” saying
Hello mate PM the seller on the Gmail below for a faster response- jelaniijordan@gmail.com

Then I got texted saying to take a picture of the fund transfer and they’ll send the item out.

The supposed buyer didn’t know I had a PM from the original and legitimate seller

Scammer GUILSTORF used (956)508-3276 to text me first then texted me from another phone number saying he had to switch phones - new number (417)986-3379

I sincerely hope their proctologist has fingers the size of fire logs cause they deserve nothing less.

Stay aware and keep watching out for one another.

Buyer beware; pus02457 who has zero feedback and zero posts pm'd me after seeing I was in a conversation with another member to buy a sight and told me his "buddy" had what I was looking for. All I had to do was email his "buddy" directly. For a second, I thought he was the other member I had pm'd about the sight. Took a minute to realize he was a 3rd party. When I politely declined he pm'd me again asking if I was able to reach his "friend". Now, there is a chance he was just trying to be helpful. But is screams scam to me. Thats how phishing works.

Ah, I see somebody mentioned the same person above. Pays to check this page first.

Update: somehow the guy got my cell number and texted me pretending to be the seller I am dealing with. Scumbag. The seller is awesome. I feel bad someone is trying to hijack his sale.
