WTS DPMS R-25 Gen 2 Carbon Fiber Handguard New

Alright folks, my mistake, hopefully you benefit. I need a DPMS handguard in .308. I thought that's what I was buying (eBay). Seller missed the fact that this one is R-25 Generation 2 (smaller diameter thread) and is refusing return, even though I've never mounted it because, ummm, I don't have an R25 DPMS rifle. Since R25 Gen 2 is a smaller diameter than standard DPMS Gen 1 (both barrels and threads on the receiver) I can't use it.

So, I'm told that this is a $200 set of handguards back when DPMS sold them (I don't think they do anymore). They have a forward mount for a Harris Bipod, no other rail mountings.

It is 13", carbon fiber throughout, not carbon wrap over aluminum, a very nice quality piece, including barrel nut and securing ring that has never been mounted.

I just want to recoup what I paid for them, asking $80 shipped. Normal board rules, first unconditional "I'll take it" followed by a PM wins. FTF not available at this time, I'm on extended training out of state.

Trades accepted (with cash on my end of course):

    - Adams Arms XLP gas block
    - .308 Piston-type Bolt Carrier Group (solid face gas key)

Nope, doesn't work like that unfortunately.

DPMS has changed their AR-10's to try to make them lighter and closer in size to an AR-15. This is their "2nd generation" rifle. They shortened the length of the receiver from previous DPMS models behind the magwell to the rear of the receiver and lowered the material on the top even further than the low profile by making the barrel nut threads a smaller diameter, which requires a smaller barrel shoulder.

So... if you have a 2nd generation handguard like this one, it's made for a smaller barrel and receiver, and simply won't fit over a 1st generation DPMS (high or low profile) barrel extension nor will it fit the barrel nut threads.

They shaved half a pound by doing this, and I'm sure it's great, it's just not what I need and I'm not going to buy an entire new receiver set for a handguard, so... just thought I'd give people a shot here before I throw it on eBay in the next day or so.

          Thanks for the thought.

In the off chance you tossed this in the closet somewhere and still have it, I sure could use it!

I'm also interested in the dpms carbon fiber handguard if it's still available.
