This is NATO spec Lake City M80. The primers AND the projectiles are sealed. This is done to keep Contaminants out of the primer/powder, and increase longevity. This is why military ammo which is properly stored will last a lifetime.

Mil-Spec Lake City M80 also has a primer crimp. This is done as insurance to keep the primer in place. It also adds another step to the reloading process as this crimp must be removed from any LC M80 Brass which is to be reloaded.

Some unscroupulus sellers ( here, at gun shows, and on other websites ) will try to pass off reloads as genuine lake city ammo to newbs and uninformed buyers. These reloads are easy to spot because the primer crimp will be removed and the projectiles will not be sealed. They will also usually not have visible annealing on the necks because it will be polished away by the tumbling process.

So my statement "Sealed projectiles and crimped primers" means this is factory loaded NATO spec LC XM80. The Real McCoy. A Factory Fresh Case made in the good 'ol USA in Lake City Missouri.

Touche'......thanks for setting an inept thread crapper straight! I digress.....
