    Ammunition Group Buy

How hard would it be to organize a Northern Central CA ammunition group buy?

I might be interested if you get it going. I'm looking for .223/5.56 and maybe some .40

I am just trying to figure it all out first. Cause I see ammunition group buys in southern CA every once in a while, but never here in northern CA. I am in interested in .223/5.56 as well, and i would love to get a group buy going in order to get better prices. Just have to figure out the How-to.

Find a seller, post a feeler thread and see how many people respond. Fun part is collecting cash and dispersing ammo. I was drooling over a pallet of .45 last weekend that weighed 3,500 lbs. and trying to decide how I was going to get it to people. Check out the So Cal group buys and see how they were set up and run for an idea. Also, don't be afraid to ask the OPs how they did it. I had 100,000 rounds requested after 12 hours.

Damn, I would be happy to do this. I have been thinking of doing monthly drives down to SoCal and pick up some ammo from Serge. Was thinking of offering up to those that want to get some. I was just thinking of adding like $10 per order to cover gas. As long as I get like 10 or 12 people, that should cover gas.

The only hard part would be collecting monies upfront. Delivery wont be too bad. Can always setup a certain pickup date and a meet spot for everyone and drop off the last few. The $$ is what worries me more.

My truck can handle the weight, if needed, I can even load up my 6x12 trailer and really make a big haul.

Ya, that's a good idea. Serge seems to be the go to guy in SoCal.
That's the next step, figuring out the money thing. I'll be starting a feeler thread real soon to see how many would really be interested. If this happens I would probably just do 9mm, 45ACP, .223/5.56, and maybe .40. We'll see.
And again, all the input and comments are much appreciated.

Yeah, I have shot lots of his .40 and it was all good.

Also I like the way he packs it up. Plastics bags in 50 count.

I am gonna pm him and see when he plans on getting 223 in stock. The buy will have to wait until then.

                      I need me some 38, 40, and 223.

With only 5 posts and "0" iTrader rating, I doubt your going to get much traffic here.

Ya, Serge seems to go through .223 really fast. I might have to find another source for that.
I know, haven't done any business on here. But I have to start somewhere. I can talk about how great of guy I am, but talk is cheap. And I know i wouldn't trust some random person with no ratings on here for doing things like this. But I've gotta start somewhere, maybe if could find a few people that I would do right by to go in on this with me, and trust me, it would be a good start.
But I totally understand where you are coming from...

That is the other concern I have.. I am fairly new to Calguns. However, if it makes people feel better, I have been active in several other forums. I have a few more posts and a positive itrader.. hey, 1 is positive.

I have been on BARF since like 2002, I have been on AudiWorld since like 2000. Active on both forums, not just a lurker. 100% on my eBay profile.

Plus I can probably tie in the trips when I do my trackdays at Buttonwillow or Willow Springs.

Like I said, my main issue is with the $ and collecting upfront. If I had the ability, I would collect half and half on delivery, but I am not in that position. But, if we can get one group buy down and show that this can work, I am sure it will get easier from then on.
