I've been to Schmit and Titoni and find their pricing to be pretty much double - across the board - for everything in the store. I don't mind paying a reasonable premium for local convenience, they're just too far out of line. In this era of the internet and instant information, I'm not sure how long a company can survive with that practice.

              huh ?

i bought a pack of primers for like $3 and a pound of powder for like $26 thats kind of high but cheaper than mail ordering it with hazmat

i thought the 9mm bullets were $35 for 500 but maybe thats has changed in the last month

As of 9/1/2010, Schmidt & Titoni price on Federal small pistol primers = $44.90 / 1000 (Magnum primers = $49.90)

                Bear Creek 125g RN bullets = $39.99 / 500

                Bullseye powder = $24.99

Definitely not the greatest prices on earth. Petaluma Gun & Reload is worse.
I still try and support S&T because they're the closest shop I've got...

I dunno, $10 for a jar of Hoppe's is pretty excessive. Depending on the powder I paid closer to $30. If they charged 25% more than Powder Valley, for example, I could live with it.

That's a good price on the bullets, but that's the only good pricing I've seen. Who ever mentioned it's a friendlier place than Helm's is right. I had some pretty horrible experiences with Helm's and refused to return until the new people took over. The new people are hungrier for business and willing to help out with a smile.

I did try to bring up the pricing issue with them in a tactful way, but I suppose I failed. I said they could get a lot more of my $1500 annual gun budget if they'd come down a bit more - mentioned that 25% markup on a $1000 is better than a 100% markup on $35. Seemed to fall on deaf and irritated ears.

I'll go back in an emergency. But I plan pretty well.
