List of CA Transferring Ammo Vendors

I have seen several posts here and elsewhere about some gun stores who either wouldn't do transfers or weren't ammo vendors.

I think we need a list of FFLs and Ammo Vendors who will do transfers and their costs, one created by the members from actual transactions in their local area.

So, if you've made a private ammo sale or purchase through an FL or Ammo Vendor post there name, location and rates in this thread and I'll add them to this post in a list.

Freedommunitions.com has a preferred dealer list. Go to their website and type in your zip code to find the closest one to you. The closest one in sfv is Redstone in burbank.

          Fee: 10$ 50k ammo limit

            Elite Armory in Castro Valley

From Gabe - who was super friendly and helpful:

"We do accept online ammo transfers. The fee is 10% of you invoice amount with a minimum fee of $35 and 10 case max. "

Currently [as of 3/9/2018] - Elite does not do PPT ammo transfers. I was the first to ask, so they may develop a protocol if a few of you ask as well.

There is mass confusion right now. I called Left Coast today based on above post. They had no idea there was any restriction on PPT or have a process for it. The above must have been in reference to internet based sales as that is the only thing they talked about. Said they would have to look into the other.

Seems to me that there needs to be very distinct info posted or a split for PPT dealers vs Tranfer dealers. PPT seems very very very rare.

Based on the number of posts of folks selling and/or over limit, I guess most are simply not complying. Whether for principal or lack of dealer support to allow it. Totally blows. Of course CA could give two squirts, all they care about is getting the tax and having someone collect it for them.

Hello - I was posting for both online transfers and PPT.

As far as I know, for FFL's accepting ammo orders from out of state, they can charge whatever they want (I could be wrong) and/or CA taxes. Some places only charge tax, others charge taxes + a % + a fee (which sucks).

For PPTs I THINK you are right, $5 fee and there is no special licence or form or anything. Technically if they have an FLL01, they can do a PPT ammo x-fer.

But, as someone said, there is mass confusion around this.

[Mod - feel free to delete this as it isn't an entry about an FLL location, I hope this thread doesn't get clogged up with discussion, as I think many of us just want a list to consult. Maybe the top post can be an ongoing list someone builds out as others inform the thread of what they learn?]

there must be an invoice with the shipment.
