VISM double rifle case (woot-sport) 39.99 plus 5.00 shipping

I came across this woot deal and wanted to share: VISM double rifle case

I picked up the black case, but there are other styles/colors for the same price. I figure it beats the 10.00 soft case from Bass Pro.
    I support/defend the 2nd.

Bag seems pretty underwhelming for that price. I'd rather spend a little bit more and get a Condor or Voodoo rifle case.

Yeah, its a great bang for your buck. I recently got one of their double carbine cases and was impressed on the durability.

I just got a VISM double carbine case and compare to the Voodoo Tactical, they're identical. IMO Voodoo is overpriced and if i was blind tested to feel the quality, it be hard to choose one from the other. Then again, it's up to the person's budget and preference. But for something to just store and carry your rifle from and to the range, you can't beat the price that VISM offers.

I don't personally own a VISM case, but I do have both a Condor and a Voodoo rifle case. Even though both of those are very similar, the Condor is built of slightly nicer and better material, so from a material point of view, I doubt they are identical.

From a feature point of view, the VISM does not have removable pouches or lockable zippers. No way would I buy a rifle case in CA that does not have lockable zippers.

If the case fits within the buyers price range, then so be it. It's better than nothing at all, but as I mentioned, the lack of a lockable zippers is an absolute deal breaker for me.

That's why there so many different rifle cases on the market to accommodate buyer's needs

Just out of curiosity, why would you need a lockable zipper here in California? Some sort of range rule, or something bigger?

                      Gun Free School Zones.

Since GFSZ require firearms be transported in a locked container and since most/many people drive vehicles that don't have a separate trunk (SUV/truck/hatchback), the case needs to be locked. Without a case that has a lockable zipper, you would be violating the law driving through a GFSZ, or in my case, just walking out the front door.

Wow I didn't know about that. Thanks for the helpful info. I'm happy I live in the high desert area and only drive to Barstow to go shooting. No schools near my route. But that's good info.

Btw, shipping on the item (any item from woot) is only 5.00 bucks.

Also, I went to the NCstar website and the bag has 2 zippers that can be locked with a small luggage lock if you absolutely need to lock up your rifles for transport reasons.

                        Hope that helps.

I thought transporting firearms requires a locked container by law (how many people follow/get busted is a different question) unless you are going to a range or something?

Rifle bag arrived yesterday. More than enough space for 2 ar15s with scopes. The zippers are have loops large enough to run a lock through. Although the loops are made of a cloth material, I'm not sure how the law defines how the zippers should lock but this case is definitely lockable.
