Damn you guys....my wallet is so much lighter now. But always wanted a good pair of boots with stitched welt (soles) since many of my hiking boots have the soles separated since it's only glued down.

Picked up a pair of Acadia. From $300 to $150 shipped is too good to pass up.

^ Same here. I was looking at some of the others that I thought looked a little better, but they were made overseas and not rebuildable so I went with the Acadias. Check out the video on their site on rebuilding boots; damn impressive stuff. Looks like you can make one pair last a lifetime by replacing a few parts as they wear out.

The Acadia is the best fitting boot I've ever owned. The fit/feel like they made each pair just for me. I grabbed a new pair from this sale too. They do last a long time. I have a pair that have been rebuilt that are at least 8 years old so far.

danners makes a good boot. I'm a whites guy myself, but always recommend the super rain forester to seasonals looking for their first woods boots.
