    Sports Afield 6040 Executive Vault

Seems like its an icredible price with 60 minute fireproof time at 1200 degrees. My wife said we need something to keep our documents and jewelry safe and I need a bigger safe and somewhere to keep important docs as well.

Anyone have experience on this? I might go for it but will see if I can get an interest free card first.

Another thread here has Costco safes for $500. Local pick up from a guy named Tim in La Habra.

If you are looking for document storage in addition to gun storage, I highly suggest getting a small firesafe to put inside the larger safe. They are inexpensive and will do a much better job than the gunsafe alone.

I bought one similar to this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/17453182

I just bought this safe Monday (02/17/14) night online, they emailed me and asked if I wanted it delivered faster then the 2-3weeks, I said yes, so it will be here tomorrow (02/20/14)...Great customer service, and $899 delivered you can't really beat that..

I bought the 7240 and after all the back breaking effort of getting it into my house, after 2 weeks the safe quit functioning. They forgot to weld up all of the internal components in the door (only tack welded) and it was a nightmare trying to get this fixed. They would not ship me just a door so they had to send a whole new safe, which they weigh well over 800 lbs. When I received it, it was the wrong color, so now I had a broken safe and a safe of the wrong color in my driveway for 3 weeks. I finally ended taking the door off myself and welding it. I got a $50 Costco card from Sports Afield for all my troubles. I did not have quite as an enjoyable time as most, but after I fixed it, it has been a great safe. Just a heads up to everyone, if your mechanism doesn't seem right, it may not be so watch out.

This safe is the biggest piece of crap. Check YouTube on this one.

Yeah not sure why that photo flipped but whatever, very tacticool I guess. According to politicians, they are less dangerous when mounted upside down

I would get this if you are ok with little bit smaller safe. http://www.costco.com/.product.11468...uctsInCategory

its a smaller size safe but weighs more and 70 minutes fire rate. which pretty much means thicker metal. These are 10 gauge steel instead of 12 gauge like the airfield. the extra room does help a lot if you planning on storing ammos as well. but if not, there are plenty of room in the bighorn
