So this my be a stupid question, but since the anderson lower says .223/ 5.56 on the side instead of multi cal I'm guessing it technically isn't legal for me to run it on a 5.45 upper? Just asking to ask.

Caliber marking on the side doesn't matter. Although some prefer it to say the actual calibre being shot, it doesn't matter what kind of upper you put or shoot out of the gun.

Thanks. Kind of figured as much. Was on the CA DOJ site looking for an answer.

I can see an ignorant LEO giving someone a hard time for having a standard mag release button on a rimfire AR. But it doesn't matter...completely legal. I will be building a dedicated 22 AR out of one of mine.

Of course! I called them to find this out after poking around the site for too long. Their FFL compliance person, I believe her name is Dori, was very nice and got my FFL sorted out quickly.

How do these compare to the PSA Blemished Safe/Fire Lowers? I put in a order for 2 when they were $59.99 each.

My order is still processing so wondering if I should cancel and order these Andersons for $10 less each.

Cancel and get these. Mine had no issues at all and I ordered 5.

This was in an email from Karris Guns:

appears to be cosmetic issues. I had no issues with the lowers I got from them.

All I care about is in spec. Its a lower and does its job.

Who does transfer in SoCal without charging an arm and a leg? Trying to line up the FFL first before I buy 5.

Yep, if I was in the market for a cheap lower, the cosmetic stuff wouldn't bother me either. I have a Delaware Machine lower I got for cheap and it works just fine. Just passing on the info.
