Easy. They don't. You can get 100rd of .223 Federal for $34.99. I agree it is cheaper. But it is not 5.56 and it is not half. Also, lot of people don't have friends working the ammo counter to tell them when to come in nor do they have hours to spend driving from each location on "delivery days" to try and snag it. I have gotten lucky several times but won't bother any more. If I see it when I am in the store, I will buy it but I won't waste gas or time driving or standing in line with dumbasses who all spew the same "crisis" rhetoric or talk about how they are going to sell it for double.
