    80% Lower & CNC Time - $40

Before flaming me, this is a link to a deal in the future. Essentially a "Kickstarter" type project, $40 will get you a paperweight/80% lower AND an opportunity to finish your lower through a traveling CNC machine using a open source programming to complete the task.

Sounds sketchy, but this is a project brought forth by Bryan Suits (not related/no association to). He is an ardent supporter of the 2nd Amendment, Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient and the host his own talk show on KFI AM 640 (a fantastic show if you really want to know the actual facts and not what the liberal media wants you to know on military/war/conflicts in the world, also available also as a podcast).

Just getting an 80% lower for that price sounds like a deal in itself, but $40 is apparently what the forging AND the machining is really worth. Read through the project's "About" section and decide on your own if this is worth funding or not and try not to get too off topic if you decide to leave a comment.

    Here's the link...let freedom ring.

What is your relation and how were you apprised of this "opportunity"? I'd like to know a little more background about this project, if possible, before risking $40...
I've heard Bryan Suits on the radio and if it is the same person, he seems like an upstanding guy.

I've seen so many of these "kickstarter" 80%'s lately, and honestly, they are all sounding pretty shady.

No relation to him (I mentioned this in my original post) other than being a listener to his show for years now. I know about this because he posted this on his show's Facebook page (https://m.facebook.com/#!/profile.ph...user=809069151) and I'm sure if I listened to his show last night, he probably mentioned it.

I'm just surprised at the $40 price tag, but again, this is your money so its your risk to take...I'm just trying to spread the word in case you are interested.

It doesnt say you get an 80% for $40, It says "Funders will receive an 80% complete AR lower at cost (date TO BE DETERMINED), and a guaranteed date for your personal project to be completed." Ive blown $40 on alot of stupider stuff, I wonder if there is a place to ask more questions??

How will this mobile cnc thing work? Seems a little good to be true.

                    From his Facebook page:

"It should cost no MORE than $40 for the paperweight, and a nominal "setup" fee from a CNC machinist.

I hope I cleared it up. An 80% paperweight is the reward for funders."

I can understand the hesitation from those who don't listen to him but I have for years and like Oz Monkey, I also believe he's a standup guy.

We have blown $40 on much stupider things in half the time. I am following my gut on this one, I think Bryan is going to follow through. He has answered all my questions, 7075 anodized aluminum. The going rate for CNC is about 50-60 bucks per lower if hes around that I'm good. If we get a big enough local group the mobile machinist will come to us. Look him up, Bryan Suits. I think it will gain momentum, keep an eye on it. I think its worth looking into and keeping an eye on. Just my 2 cents.
