Spotting Scope Clearance Priced at Big 5

    Hey All,

Just saw this clearance price on a spotting scope and wanted to get your collective feedback on it. I know nothing about them, but want one..

Aside from favoring the better optics brands, what should I look for and what do you thing of this as a first, particularly at this price?

    thx

Looks like a decent product for a fair price. I bought a different brand from Big 5, also a 60 power, for $60 a couple years ago. Didn't have a spiffy case like that though.

Don't waste your money like I did on those <$100 spotting scope. I got one of the Barska 60x from Big5 and you can't see the bullet holes at 100 yards.

I too have a barska 60x, not worth the powder to blow it to hell.

I have the Tasco. You can see you bullet holes at 100 yards and maybe 200. It really sucks to use. Tripod is tough to use, filed of view is very limited, and not very clear at 200 yards. Dont waste your money

Thanks all .. I've been considering buying one but am fairly clueless. Any recommendations on one that easy to use out to 200 yards?

The Konus 20-60 x 80mm is generally well reviewed as a "starter" spotting scope. After that, the next bump in quality is saving up for a nice used model from Kowa or similar.

Can you see up close at 100 yards?
Is it very shaky and difficult to focus at 100 yards?
Does this scope have a very short eye relief?

                        Thanks

Google the scope and check the other reviews. I wear eye protection, and have no problems even at full zoom and can easily see .22lr holes at 100 yards.

You will see the holes at 100 yards, but you have to use splattering targets.

Not even needing splatter targets to see .22 lr holes or .223 holes at 100 yards, and I would guess at even longer ranges it would be fine.
