the two links in the thread show in stock... which ones are sold out?

I won't pay those prices though... fortunately I have several thousand rounds of .223/5.56 and equal amount of 7.62x39

Supply and demand drives the prices though... so it's not really gouging when supply is low. Every commodity works the same way. On the other hand - if retailers are purposely holding back on supply (to drive prices up), that's a different story.

With the free shipping it's really only about a $100 higher than before the panic..

And since it's not a "necessity of life" then it's not really price gouging.. it's supply and demand.

man a few weeks ago i could have gotten a case of PMC bronze .223 for $319 from my local sporting goods store they had 10 cases in stock at the time of course sold out now . it would have been a huge return in investment if i had bought all 10 cases and resold it for $500 a case.

Yeah well just gotta hold tight for a few months this will all boil over just like the housing market bubble burst a few years ago. My advice if you really need to buy right now is just secure enough to feel comfortable with and no more. I wouldnt go crazy and start buying $700 cases .i may be wrong but ill say by late spring 2013 .223/5.56 prices will fall back down to reasonable levels. i really dont think .223/5.56 will be banned any time soon.

it won't even be banned (imo)... but they very well may restrict the quantity to be purchased at a time... and if CA (or Feds) implement the "permit" to purchase ammo idea, then prices will go up because retailers are going to have to process similar to DROS...

Hopefully they will never do the assassin serialized casing - otherwise the manufacturing costs will skyrocket and our prices will probably double (if not more)...

These are the things the government will do to limit and control ammo... they won't ban it, they will just make it so expensive that most won't stockpile (like we do)...

So don't be surprised if prices never come down to "normal levels" - but if they do, people will buy boatloads which puts us right back where we are now (supply and demand).
