I just couldn't resist the deal because I always wanted a EOTech. Never liked looking through a toilet paper roll..
I went through shop42a.com to help out CGF, signed up for a free Amazon Prime Student account (free 2 days shipping for 6 months), Added the 512 to cart, Signed up for the Amazon Visa Card, and finally applied JULGET20 coupon code.
I was thinking of getting more sporting goods stuff but stopped myself because I didn't want to spoil myself too much.

Looking to get a scope for a new Ruger 10/22 TD. I know nothing about buying scopes. Read a couple threads about scopes and the Ruger and was wondering the following about these two scopes:
Scope 1. http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-ProStaff...975143&sr=1-32
Scope 2. http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-ProStaff...ef=pd_sim_sg_2
1. Would either, or both fit the 10/22 TD (mounted on the gun, gun broken down, stored in the bag)?
2. Would I need smaller(size) scope to fit in bag mounted?
3. Different power?
4. Which rings would be best, med see-through or high profile see-through, or regular ones? (again to still fit in the bag, scope on gun)
5. Is there a better choice of scope, similar priced, quality I would be better off with?
6. Since 10/22 TD is stainless, black or silver scope, which is best/why, or does it matter?
edit: Just saw this one too: http://www.amazon.com/Simmons-Truple...975143&sr=1-47
Any help, suggestions are appreciated
Also been awhile since I have used points, I have 490 points, what does that = in cash towards purchase?
ThanksLast edited by RangerJoe; 07-10-2012, 8:26 PM.Comment

Thanks for posting this zvardan! With the 20%, $50 reward card credit and the free 2 day shipping the $242.25 total for an eotech 512 was just too good for me to pass up. I'm a new rifle owner (ar15) and wasn't planning on buying an optic for awhile while I learned how to shoot with iron site. Oh well!Comment

I first saw this thread a couple days ago and I've been thinking about an eotech ever since. I bought my first AR last month (M&P Sport) but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Was planning to go with irons only but this eotech deal is too good to pass up.
Leaning towards the 512 but would it be better to just go with the XPS2? The XPS2 is about $100 more but with the discount it would be similar to the regular price of the 512.Comment

I went ahead and bought the 512. With the Amazon VISA discount and my rewards points, it ended up coming out to $170! Not bad for an eotech!
The only thing I noticed is that the estimated ship date is mid-August to early-September. I bet these have been a hot item due to the VISA discount.Comment
